Gravelanche 2024: The Anniversary Ride
Did you hear that Sports Garage is turning the big 3-0 this year? We’ll be celebrating all season, and no doubt one of the best events will be the spring Gravelanche ride.
WHAT: Mark your calendars for Saturday, April 13 to kick off your season on two wheels. With at least three individual riding groups – from “blow your hair back” to “we chatted the whole way” – we’ll be riding all over the county during one of Boulder’s largest free gravel events.
COST: This is a free event that welcomes riders of all abilities.
WHO: If you own a bike you’re comfortable riding on mixed terrain, this event is for you, whether it is your very first group gravel ride, or something you do on a weekly basis. Please check the details below for the average pace of each group. Rides are free, open to the public, and organized by Sports Garage Cycling.
DETAILS: As always, we’ll kick things off by opening the shop’s doors with coffee and donuts at 9:00am. Three group rides roll out at 10:00am:
| “A” Ride: Spirited and challenging – longer and faster, but not a bike race. At least two regroup points. ~ 3+ hours.
ROUTES WILL BE POSTED THE FIRST WEEK OF APRIL
| “B” Ride: Tempo and solid – shorter than the “A” ride, but not for slouching. At least two regroup points. ~ 2.5+ hours. Often splits into two pace groups.
ROUTES WILL BE POSTED THE FIRST WEEK OF APRIL
| “C” Ride: Casual and consistent – less climbing than the A or B routes. Beginner friendly ride at 13-14 mph. A no-drop ride. ~ 1.5+ hours
ROUTES WILL BE POSTED THE FIRST WEEK OF APRIL
