Get Ready to Pay for Parking to MTB in Some Colorado and Montana Areas

If you are planning trips to mountain bike in Colorado or Montana, specifically on federal lands, bring some extra money for parking.   The BLM will be charging for parking in certain areas which is intended to support trail and land maintenance.

These fees will begin May 15, 2025.  On that day, parking in the Big Hole River  corridor in Montana will costs $5 per day.  You an also purchase a seasonal pass for $20.  In Colorado, the BLM will charge $4 per day.  You can purchase a seasonal pass for $20 in Colorado as well.  These charges in Colorado will begin May 21, 2025.  Both the daily and annual passes will be applicable to the land managed by the Uncompahgre Field Office in Colorado.  

People holding an America the Beautiful Pass–The National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Senior Pass or Access Pass, or a Golden Age or Golden Access Passport, would be entitled to a 50 percent fee reduction on these and all expanded amenity fees.

These will go into place on the above dates unless the BLM published a Federal Register Notice to the Contrary.
