Brent Murphy Captures Cyclo-X Harlow Platts
Last Sunday, we kicked off the Colorado Cross Cup season with the first race in the Shimano GRX series at Cyclo-X Harlow Platts. As I mentioned
For years, cyclists in Colorado have enjoyed a group of epic rides that include the Elephant Rock, Copper Triangle, Tour of the Moon, and more. Over the past years, we have enjoyed these events being owned and managed by Roll Massive, which brought a whole new level of quality and a prestige to what were already iconic events and rides.
Roll Massif is now Outside Events. Same rides, same experiences, same professional productions, just a new name.
Outside Events offers iconic courses from the front range to high desert to alpine terrain, with a range of distances and challenges to suit most all abilities.
The rider, no matter what level, gets choose their course, how they want to ride it and who they want to ride with. For some, just finishing the long course is an achievement, others like to race the timed segments, but everybody enjoys surfing the energy of the group; Their events range from 300 to 4,000 riders.
It’s Your Journey! Ride at whatever pace you like. You can take the timed segments (when applicable) as seriously or as frivolously as you like. Even if you choose to ride hard and fast, we encourage you to stop and take in the scenery, wait for your friends, and enjoy the aid stations.
Outside Events offers 5 Road Rides, 2 Gravel Races, and 2 12-hour Mountain Bike Races.
Wild Horse Gravel
This May get ready to kick off the season with Wild Horse Gravel! Returning to De Beque, Colorado with two new routes and a cash purse, this event offers a secret stash of high desert gravel unlike any other. Choose from the 30-mile short course or ride the 65-mile long course with 5,500 ft of climbing and $5,000 in cash waiting at the finish. Then, kickback after the ride at the ultimate basecamp, the High Lonesome Ranch, for the ultimate post-ride hoedown.
Sunrise to Sunset Elephant Rock
Are you tusk enough? Race for 12 hours on June 4 and complete the Elephant Rock Century on June 5…all for the IRON TUSK. Finishers will receive a prestigious award that will have everyone trumpeting!
Elephant Rock
Rock the Rock! To celebrate the cycling season with the iconic Elephant Rock. On June 5th participants can choose between four separate rides (100, 62, 45 miles) or a 12-mile family ride. There’s a route for everyone, beginner to expert.
Crooked Gravel & Sunrise to Sunset Winter Park
If nothing worth doing is ever easy, then the 2022 edition of Crooked Gravel is certainly worth doing. Tackle over 5,000 feet of climbing and 67 miles with the long route, plus get a shot at the $5,000 cash purse. Or choose the short route for a 30-mile ride, perfect for those just starting to dabble in gravel. The Winter Park Sunrise to Sunset event capitalizes on two well-established strengths: the Sunrise to Sunset model of a 12-hour endurance race format and Winter Park’s deep mountain-bike roots.
Copper Triangle
The Copper Triangle exemplifies road cycling in the Rockies. Join us for a weekend that will include 79-miles of cycling bliss, aid stations with healthy and energizing refreshments, a friendly hill-climb competition up Vail Pass, and a post-ride Alpine Celebration to include lunch, beer garden, expo and entertainment. All of this is happening on Saturday, August 6.
Enchanted Circle
Experience the beauty of the Southwest when you ride Enchanted Circle! With a choice of an 85 or 100-mile course, cyclists will experience rewarding climbs, rolling hills, fast descents and hairpin turns. Bounded by some of the most spectacular peaks in New Mexico. Following the ride enjoy music, food and libations. New in 2022 is a timed hill climb of Bobcat Pass before coasting to the finish line in the town Red River!
Tour of the Moon
Join us in Grand Junction this Fall! Tour of the Moon exemplifies road cycling in the American west. The breathtaking Colorado National Monument acts as the event’s backdrop. Join us for our 10th annual ride on Saturday, September 10, 2022.
Tour de Vineyards
